Falderhof in Cologne

Celebrated a 30th birthday here with the family at Falderhof. The main course was very tasty, most of them had the leg of lamb, which was really tender as butter. Starters and desserts were also good in principle, but sometimes really overpriced, especially the herring. The location is very nice outside in summer, the inner courtyard is cozy and offers a nice atmosphere. Even if the staff were very friendly, the service that evening was unfortunately really bad. We were only able to place our first drink order after about half an hour, after we were put off several times. We actually got the first drink AFTER the starter, by which time we were already at the table for 1.5 hours. In the course of the evening it got a little better, but we still had to go to the waitress again and again and sometimes order several times to get more drinks. We were never asked, and we also had to explicitly request the dessert menu again. Would have been understandable if the house was full, but only about 6-7 tables were occupied for 2 service staff, that would have been easier to do. Especially with the price level, you can wait more here. Overall, however, certainly not bad, I would give 3.5 stars for one evening and drop by a second time when I get the chance to hopefully enjoy a little better service.

Unfortunately, the expectations could not even come close. Due to Corona requirements and a probably non-existent air conditioning / air filter system, the door was open and some windows were permanently tilted. In the first step, the restaurant cannot do anything about that. How it is dealt with is clearly in the hands of the restaurant. We could have been made aware of this when reserving a table by telephone, so that we could have taken a thin jacket with us if necessary. As soon as we entered the restaurant, the first freezing people in winter jackets were sitting at the table (interior !!). When we were there, we saw other people with blankets and jackets sitting at the table. We weren't even offered a blanket. In addition, the attentiveness of the wait staff was not appropriate to the price level. During the meal, we weren't even asked whether everything was okay and new drinks couldn't be ordered either, as a service was not available anywhere. In addition, we waited 50 minutes for our main course, which was then only lukewarm. Tastes good, but 3 small ravioli for 23 € are not without it. The cherry on the cake came at the end: When we pointed out to the waitress that we were cold and would have liked to close the window, they took a quick look and left again. The window had to be unlocked with a key to close it. 10 minutes later after nothing happened, we asked the waitress again. No direct answer. Shortly afterwards the owner came, or at least someone who had something to say. Snippy answer: The windows have to be open due to corona regulations. You could have dressed appropriately / thicker. The lady closed the window at our table and at the same time opened a window in the back 2 meters away, so that it pulled from there. As I said: the restaurant is not responsible for the requirements, but as so often in life - the sound makes the music. At a price of € 20-35 for a main course, you can expect more attention and friendliness. We were there for the first and last time.

Excellent cuisine! Very nice and funny service. The rooms are neat and stylishly furnished. We will be back definitely!

For me the best restaurant in the south of Cologne. Food and service are something special.

Wonderful garden. Very attentive staff. The food was very good, everything was right.

We were very disappointed, considering the quality we were used to in this house. The menu was limited to 2 starters, 3 main courses and 1 dessert. I think that a good kitchen is not overwhelmed and does not have to. a. Serve a dry pork medallion or warmed up pasta. We expressed our criticism in a friendly but very clear manner. As an excuse we were offered a dessert. We don't want to do without this nice ambience and will be back. Of course we hope to find the usual quality.

Very cozy; a few interesting dishes with sophistication; my main course (monkfish) was cooked to perfection; Staff very friendly. Highly recommended - we would love to come back!

Very good but be careful, not a beer garden but a good restaurant.

Today we were there for the funeral of our mother with the extended family who had traveled from all over Germany. In Corona times an ideal place to be outside in the courtyard with tables laid and very private. The place setting from a soup, sandwiches and then coffee and cake were just right for us. Thanks to the good planning and the professional and discreet staff, we all felt very comfortable there as a family. Thanks a lot for this.

It's a nice location, unfortunately the service was very rude today ... Corona or not ... I've never seen anything like this in a restaurant ... hope for the team that the blonde woman is not the boss .. .. incredible!

Very nice hotel, large room and comfortable bed. Abundant breakfast. High price but if you find the opportunity it is worth it.

Nice fine rooms, although the bathrooms are already a bit old. Very friendly staff. Ambience of the yard is fantastic! Food was delicious. In the context of a seminar really a nice thing.

A very nice Gutsanlage converted to the restaurant and hotel. We were invited to a birthday party. There was excellent food selection, but unfortunately cold to lukewarm. That should not have happened. Nevertheless, I recommend it further.

Wonderful food in a relaxed atmosphere. In addition, an extensive wine list and very attentive service staff.
